Does anybody use LaTeX to take notes, especially during class? If not, what do you use, especially when you need to write down equations?

Yes! Have a look at my lecture notes for Real Analysis. All of this has been made while attending the lecture. None of it has been edited afterwards. For this to be possible we have to be able to Quickly write math; Quickly edit text; Quickly draw figures. The solutions for these problems are Vim with Ultisnips and Inkscape Vim and Zathura (pdf viewer) Using Vim with Ultisnips, I can write math faster than I can by hand. I use a lot of snippets that make writing \LaTeX a breeze! Have a look at this one minute video to see it in action. Vim is also an awesome text editor that allows me to edit text quickly. To quickly draw figures, I use Inkscape. This is a lot faster than making your figures in \LaTeX When I edit the figure, \LaTeX code for including the figure is automatically copied to my clipboard to allow for easy pasting in my document. The text in a figure is rendered by \LaTeX for a consistent look. This was a rough write-up on how I keep up with note taking in mathematics. If you have any questions, feel free to ask them in the comments. Don’t miss out on extra information by clicking on ‘All comments’ (instead of ‘Recommended’). I have answered a few questions I got which may be interesting to you! Some extras. My dashboard for managing my notes. It keeps track of my schedule, number of students in the library, my notes, email, and a lot more!
